There’s no real manual for this — fatherhood, adulthood, the art of fixing a broken cabinet while the broccolis cool on the stovetop.
I’m Tim, born in the early ’80s — which basically makes me the elder statesman of the millennial dad club. I live in the Southwest, where the sunsets are dramatic, the summers are dry, and the honey-do list never seems to shrink. By day, I work full-time a cardiologist. By night (and in between school drop-offs, diaper changes, and last-minute Home Depot runs), I’m navigating life with a toddler, a first grader, and a supermom who keeps our world running.
We’re blessed to own a home, but let’s be honest — that just means the to-do list comes with a mortgage. Add in a deep commitment to our local church and helping out with our aging parents, and life gets full, fast. Beautifully full… but also chaotic, unpredictable, and often hilarious.
If you’re like me, you’ve spent your fair share of time searching youtube for things like “how to grow a nectarine tree” or “is drywall patching actually hard?”. Or maybe you’re just trying to figure out how to make a healthy dinner that your toddler won’t launch at the dog.
This space is for us — the modern dads figuring it out one small project, meal, or lesson at a time. Here, you’ll find:
- 🥕 Healthy cooking that respects your time, budget, and picky eaters
- 🔧 DIY home hacks for when YouTube tutorials just don’t cut it because they’re too complicated and filled with ads
- 🌱 Simple gardening wins that fit into naptime or weekends
- 💰 Practical personal finance tips that are more “pay the bills” than “buy a yacht”
I’m not here as an expert. I’m here as a dad doing his best — learning what works, what doesn’t, and sharing it all so we can survive and (hopefully) thrive together.
So, pull up a high chair. Let’s build something — a home, a habit, or even just dinner — one post at a time.
